Purpose:  ABC Student Staff Member will work with ABC General Staff in the implementation of activities and active supervision of participants..

 

Responsible to:  Lead Teacher and Principal/Site Coordinator 

Payment rate:  Wage established by the 21st CCLC Grant

 

Qualifications:

  1. Abilene High School student 
  2. 16 years of age
  3. Desire to participate in an education career experience
  4. Willingness to participate in job training
  5. Willingness to accept direction and feedback from Lead Teacher and Principal/Site Coordinator

Essential Functions:

  1. Support the implementation of ABC Program activities.
  2. Active supervision of ABC students.
  3. Develop positive and supportive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  4. Support student learning during instructional and enrichment activities.
  5. Assist with preparation of materials for activities.
  6. Assist with clean-up of areas following activities.
  7. Accept direction and feedback from Lead Teacher and Principal/Site Coordinator

Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:

  1. Requires stooping, bending, kneeling, turning, and reaching.
  2. Requires prolonged sitting or standing.
  3. Must occasionally work in noisy and crowded environments, with numerous interruptions.

General Responsibilities:

  1. Ability to work with and supervise groups of students.
  2. Ability to assist individual children in need of special attention.
  3. Ability to guide planned activities.
  4. Ability to assist students with noninstructional classroom duties, such as snack, toilet, and clothing routines.
  5. Ability to assist with reading and storytelling.
  6. Ability to prepare and organize materials for planned activities.
  7. Ability to observe and follow all school district policies at all times.
  8. Ability to respond to supervisor requests in a cooperative, courteous, and timely manner.
  9. Ability to keep student and personnel information and records confidential.
  10. Ability to follow guildelines concerning the use of personal technology devices during student supervision.
  11. Ability to implement and follow all District health and safety policies, including all precautions of the Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan.
  12. Ability to perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as directed by the Lead Teacher, Principal/Site Coordinator, or Program Director.
