Abilene High School is seeking a Head Volleyball Coach for next year (2025-26 season).

 

The program returns a strong group of athletes with experience that finished their season in the sub state championship game.  We are looking for a leader who will strive for continuing the growth of Abilene Volleyball. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated coach to lead a dedicated team, that has an established youth program, and help elevate the program to the next level!

 

Duties of the position include (but are not limited to):

• Teaching and modeling the Abilene Athletic & Activity core values of commitment, effort, and teamwork.

• Coaching in a transformative manner that builds strong relationships and helps players grow not only as athletes but also as people.

• Teaching volleyball fundamentals, systems, and strategies essential for program success.

• Preparing and implementing efficient, focused practice plans that emphasize skill development, volleyball IQ, and game preparation.

• Demonstrating the ability to lead the high school program while collaborating/overseeing the middle school and youth coaches to establish a vertical aligned system  for long-term player and program development.

• Providing leadership and organization to the coaching staff, empowering and utilizing assistant coaches effectively.

• Following all policies and guidelines set forth by the KSHSAA, USD 435, and Abilene High School.
