Abilene Middle School is seeking a 7th Grade Assistant Boys Basketball Coach for the upcoming 2026–2027 season (December - February).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Teaching and reinforcing the fundamental skills, strategies, and rules of basketball.

2. Supporting individual player development and team improvement.

3. Collaborating with the 7th grade head coach, 8th grade coaching staff, high school and youth coaches to promote consistency, shared terminology, and alignment throughout the program.

4. Assisting in planning and implementing structured, engaging, and developmentally appropriate practices.

5. Building positive relationships with student athletes and communicating effectively with players, parents, and coaching staff.

6. Supporting the head coach in establishing expectations, developing team culture, and managing daily program responsibilities.

7. Demonstrating a commitment to building a cohesive, development-focused boys basketball program aligned from grades 3–12.

8. Modeling and reinforcing Abilene’s core values of Commitment, Effort, and Teamwork in all aspects of the program.

9. Being a positive, collaborative team member who is committed to contributing to and strengthening the Abilene Boys Basketball program.
